GINGA
Laboratoire Artistique: Samba Ginga
Tuesday 6h - 8pm
The anchor point of the artistic and feminist project Bloco na Rua, the Samba Ginga lab is a gateway into Brazilian dance, open to everyone—even with zero experience.
Here, we explore the ginga (the fundamental body sway), the pulse, and the joy of movement without judgment. These sessions fuel our collective creation: if you feel like performing down the road, the door is open, but it is never an obligation!
Two rehearsal assistants will be on-site to support all skill levels.

THE PROJET BLOCO NA RUA
Bloco na Rua is an artistic project rooted in Brazilian cultural expression — samba, Afro-Brazilian rhythms, street dances — not as an aesthetic to reproduce, but as social technology: practices of self-transcendence, collective resilience, and transformation through movement. Here, moving is not a performance. It's a political act — existing in your body without asking permission, connecting with others without hierarchy, exploring new ways of being together. A space open to everyone. No level judgment. No ideal body. The destination is you.
